Looking for the best face creams for rosacea? Check out my honest review of some of the top moisturizers for sensitive skin prone to redness (rosacea).

Hello darlings,
I thought I’d write today’s post about the best rosacea face creams I’ve tested so far and give you my honest opinion and review – the good and the bad of each of them.
Now, you should know I don’t have major rosacea issues but have been dealing with a little bit of redness on my cheeks for a long time. I’ve included exhibit A below so you can see for yourself in the non-filtered picture.

(by the way, let’s take a moment and appreciate the braveness here- I used to not step foot in public without makeup on yet I’m now putting my bare face all over the internet. 😉 The things I do for my readers!)
I believe that one of the best things I’ve done for my skin during this past year was to stop wearing makeup and simply let it breathe.
(if you’re looking for other great ideas on what to do during lockdowns, have a look HERE).
I’ve also done a ton of research to find the best face creams for rosacea as I really wanted to minimize the redness as much as possible. So the skincare products you will find below are recommendations from the most famous beauty websites but also from skincare professionals I’ve consulted in the past.

You should know all the face creams I mention below are cosmetics and therefore not medical treatments. For serious rosacea issues, I’d highly recommend consulting a dermatologist.
So, le’s jump right into it:
The Best Face Creams For Rosacea You Should Try
Bioderma – Sensibio Anti-Redness

Bioderma is a brand I highly trust love and love! I use their micellar makeup removal religiously! To me, it’s the best one out there.
So naturally, when I saw they have a special product line dedicated to skin redness, I though I’d give it a try.
The Bioderma face cream for rosacea did not disappoint. It has a light yet hydrating texture which makes it a perfect base for makeup. My dry, sensitive skin has been enjoying it (no more flaky skin) and I loved using it in combination with the anti-redness micellar water.
I also loved the fact that it doesn’t have a strong fragrance (I actually think it doesn’t have any fragrance at all), which can sometimes irritate sensitive skin.
On the less than perfect side, while this is a great daily moisturizer, I didn’t notice any visible reduction in redness on my skin.
PROs: soothes and calms sensitive skin, perfect makeup base, no fragrance
CONs: no visible reduction in redness, no SPF
Price: $$ (mid-range)

La Roche Posay – Rosaliac UV Riche

When it comes to sensitive skin, you really can’t go wrong with La Roche Posay! It is one of the most recommended skincare brands by dermatologists. I’ve actually had 2 skin care professionals from 2 different countries recommend it to me.

I’ve been a big fan of La Roche Posay skin care products for years and I’ve recently thought to give the Rosaliac face cream a try. This is a moisturizer specifically designed for rosacea, so I was curious about the results.
As I have dry, flaky skin, I went for the rich version. While it’s super nourishing and, like Bioderma, a great makeup base, this one left a slightly shinier finish. It also feels a little bit sticky right after application. My face had quite a glow if we’re to look at the bright side hehe. 😉
Another not-so-perfect aspect of it is the fragrance. I really wish they’d do something about it, as it’s quite strong and not very pleasant. This has been the one thing that has been putting me off repurchasing again, to be honest, but if you can get past it, Rosaliac is one of the best face creams for rosacea in my opinion.
What I LOVE about it is that it was the ONE moisturizer that I felt showed results. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed a slight reduction in the redness on my face. I also love the fact that it has UV protection.
I used it twice a day, morning and night, in combination with the Rosaliac Serum.
PROs: rich and highly nourishing, calms sensitive skin, UV protection, and VISIBLE results
CONs: slightly unpleasant fragrance, face sticky & shiny after application
Price: $$ (mid-range)

Clinique – Redness Solutions
Okay, this one popped up over and over during my latest moisturisers research so I thought I’d tested it out.
Compared to the other ones it’s a little bit on a higher price point – 50$ compared to the 20-30$ range of the other 2.
Clinique is a brand I haven’t used at all in the past, but I have to tell you, I have been positively surprised!
Out of the 3, Clinique Redness Solutions has probably offered the best (user) experience, being a gentle, nourishing, yet NON OILY rosacea face cream. No more shiny skin or sticky feel! It hydrates and protects the skin, leaving it comfortable and smooth.
Unfortunately, I can’t say I’ve seen visible results, but I’ve been enjoying using it! It’s definitely a top-quality product. Next time, I might try the full Clinique Redness Solutions regimen, to check whether that helps in seeing results.
PROs: oil-free, no shine or sticky feeling, gentle, calming and nourishing, no fragrance
CONs: no visible results, no SPF
Price: $$$ (high-range)
