Top Restaurants in Amsterdam City Center
The Lobby (Hotel V)
The Lobby has been one of my top go-to brunch places ever since I moved to Amsterdam. And it is still one of my favorite restaurants to this day.
I love the atmosphere, the elegant yet cozy design of the restaurant, and the great service.
But above all else, it’s the American pancakes or Eggs Royale that does it for me. You absolutely have to try them, the food is amazing.
The location of the Lobby is pretty convenient, just a few meters away from Dam Square, on a quiet little street behind the busy Damrak. The perfect stop before (or after) a shopping session in Amsterdam.
Lotti’s (Hoxton Hotel)
The Hoxton hotel is another all-time favorite coffee place you just absolutely need to try during your stay in Amsterdam.
It is the coziest place in Amsterdam for a relaxed cappuccino with your friends on a Sunday morning with a cute view of the Herengracht Canal. I love the comfy, vintage couches, the living room library decor, and generally the vibe of the place.
Its restaurant, Lotti’s is well known among Amsterdam locals for delicious food, whether that’s brunch or dinner.
The location is great as well – you will find The Hoxton on the famous Herengracht canal, just a few meters away from the Nine Streets, this incredibly picturesque area of Amsterdam.
Le Pain Quotidien
Another great and relaxed brunch spot in Amsterdam with amazing food is Le Pain Quotidien.
There are 7 locations to choose from across the city, but if you are looking for one in the center of Amsterdam, then the Spuistraat 226 is the one for you.
Located on a gorgeous side of town, close to the Spui area and the canals, this is one of the best brunch places to try in Amsterdam. The French toast is incredible.
Greenwoods is the perfect spot for a hearty, indulgent brunch, in an amazing location, right on the Amsterdam canals (Keizersgracht).
They serve everything from a proper English breakfast, eggs benedict or muffins, shakshuka, and even a breakfast burger.
Greenwoods offers options for any diet restrictions. So whether you are looking for something vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or lactose-free, they will find a delicious meal here.
Located on the beautiful Nine Streets, Pluk is one of those cute Amsterdam brunch places which you’ve definitely seen all over your Instagram feed.
It is the perfect spot for a delicious and healthy breakfast that also looks amazing.
You can find it on Reestraat 19. Find out more here.
Best Brunch Places in De Pijp
De Pjip is a lovely neighborhood in Amsterdam, a little further from the city center with beautiful houses and bohemian narrow streets.
It is a perfect destination for a relaxed breakfast or brunch with many cozy cafes and restaurants. If you’d like to eat where the locals do, then De Pijp (pronounced something like “de pipe”) is a good place to go.
Coffee & Coconuts
Coffee & Coconuts is a true brunch staple in Amsterdam and an extremely popular place to spend a late weekend morning.
A super cozy, bright space, built in a former cinema, Coffee & Coconuts will delight you with great food and atmosphere.
It’s the perfect place to have brunch, work, have meetings, hang out with your friends, you name it.
This is also one of my personal favorite brunch places and I’m taking all my friends here when they visit Amsterdam.
Another great brunch restaurant you need to try in De Pijp is Little Collins.
Located just behind the beautiful Sarphatipark, Little Collins is a perfect place for a Sunday brunch with delicious food, good coffee, and chill vibes.
There is no reservation needed, you can simply walk in. Also, no cash is needed either, you can only pay by card at Little Collins.
Bakers and Roasters
Okay, if you are looking for a trendy brunch place in Amsterdam, this is it.
The famous Bakers & Roasters is a New Zeeland-style cafe with a touch of Brazil, as the two owners poured their heart and heritage into this place.
Not only the food tastes amazing, but I also love how committed they are to sourcing their ingredients from local farmers.
There is no reservation needed at Bakers & Roasters, you simply walk in and add yourself to the waiting list. Do be prepared to wait quite a while, especially if you arrive at peak brunch times as this is a very popular place with the Amsterdam locals. 🙂
A small, intimate cafe that prides itself on combining excellent coffee with healthy, eco-friendly Scandinavian cuisine. The perfect spot for a delicious (and healthy) breakfast or lunch, away from the tourist crowds of Amsterdam’s city center.
You can find the Scandinavian Embassy in the heart of De Pijp, just opposite Sarphatipark.

Staring at Jacob
Staring at Jacob is a cozy American brunch place in the hip neighborhood of Amsterdam Oud (old) West.
They serve awesome wake-up cocktails and yummy, healthy (and pretty creative) bites. You definitely have to try their famous chicken and waffles.
The atmosphere at Staring at Jacob is super relaxed and intimate. It is a well-known go-to brunch place in Amsterdam so they don’t take reservations during the weekend.
