With summer just around the corner and the temperatures slowly rising, It’s time to hit the tracks and get in shape! Not necessarily for that perfect beach body (unless you want to), but just for our own health and wellbeing.
Not sure about you, but I’m always feeling A LOT more motivated around this time of the year to work out. (might also be because it FINALLY stops raining in The Netherlands after 6 months straight, (aka winter), and the sun comes out! ;)).
Whether it’s running in the park, strength training, or a relaxing yoga session in your living room, there’s just something about springtime and the warm weather that gets us super energized, right?

How To Choose The Best Workout Clothes
I’ve always believed in the QUALITY OVER QUANTITY principle, which is valid in so many areas of our lives. I find it DEFINITELY applies to clothes and our entire wardrobe, so of course also when choosing our workout outfits.
This is why I would always recommend opting for a few good quality pieces which will last you longer, rather than having a million, cheaper sports bras or leggings that lose their shape or become see-through after a few washes.
High-quality brands like alo yoga, lululemon, or Running Bare are some of my go-to’s for the best, most stylish, and flattering workout outfits. Of course, you won’t go wrong with Nike or adidas either.
How To Afford Premium Workout Clothes
I know these brands can be a little bit pricey (especially alo yoga and lululemon), but trust me, you won’t regret the purchase. The quality and durability of these products are outstanding. To give you an example, I bought my lululemon workout gear 3 years ago during our trip to Canada and it still fits and looks as new.
Here’s a trick on how to afford more premium workout clothes: since most gyms are (still) closed due to lockdowns, how about using that monthly fee you used to pay them, to buy yourself a nice, good quality sports bra, or leggings which you will use for years to come.
That’s exactly what I did last March: I quit the gym subscription as I was noticing amazing results with my Chloe Ting workouts at home (no more waking up at 6 AM for a barre class, yay!) and upgraded my workout wardrobe with a few essential pieces that I KNOW will last me for years.
Side note: definitely don’t quit your gym if you enjoy it and it motivates you to work out! Saving a little bit every month for quality workout gear is a great option too.

- good quality leggings (for the colder summer days): these ones from alo yoga are the absolute best, they fit like a second skin

- good running shoes (optional of course if you’re working out at home)
